Annual Chili Cookoff – MEXICO/LA 2019

This Sunday, February 24, is the annual CHILI COOK-OFF, one of the group mission trip FUN and FUNDraisers, and all are welcome.   The event is set up as a “taste-testing” around the Cafe Court and the foyer.  There will be three categories to sample:  chilies, soups, and casseroles/hot dishes.  As you sample them, you’ll be encouraged to vote for your favorite and give a donation to the trip.   There will also be “Dessert for a Donation” where you may get a baked item to eat now, share with others, or take home as a treat later.  Be sure to stay for the food and fellowship on Sunday!

About the MEXICO/LA 2019 missions trip:   Every four years Pastor Terry desires to give an opportunity for students in grades 6–12 and their parents to experience a short-term mission trip … MEXICO/LA 2019  is that experience!   Ministry opportunities will include travel to Tijuana, Mexico to work with Baja Vision and spend a week building a small home for a Christian family.  The team may also help at a local Christian-run orphanage; sing, pray and bring food to a hospice home and nursing home; plus lead a VBS.  Then they head to LA where they will serve in two large downtown homeless shelters.   The dates for this trip are June 3–16, 2019.
