Local Missions

Biblical counseling, care for those in need, adoption and practical life skill development describe some of the local agencies that Parkview supports.  Sharing the gospel through assisting the work of faithful ambassadors around the region provides an opportunity to impact the area for Christ.



Doyle and Chris Spader with Cadence International

Cadence International is an evangelical missions agency dedicated to reaching the military communities of the United States and of the world with the Good News of Jesus Christ. Cadence serves all branches of the military in American and overseas locations.

Parkview supports Doyle and Chris Spader who have served in military ministry for more than 30 years. The Spaders have served with Cadence in Spain, Germany, Colorado, and currently in Rapid City, SD at Ellsworth Air Force Base.


Micah and Brenda Lewis and Kate Maxey with Campus Ventures

Campus Ventures is a ministry disciples high school and college students, equipping them to be firm in their faith and enabling them to share it with others.

Micah and Brenda Lewis serve with Campus Ventures at Black Hills State University, building relationships with students through evangelism & discipleship.    New to the team there is another Parkview connection, Kate Maxey.    After a few years with Campus Crusade (CRU) in Sioux Falls, Kate sensed God leading her to this ministry and

Spearfish … and is enjoying both!


Linda Johnson and Mark Theissen with Christian Life Ministries (CLM)

CLM is a non-denominational, Biblical counseling and training center located in Rapid City, SD. One-on-one Bible-based counseling is provided for anyone in need. Courses and training are intended to equip the body of Christ to better meet the needs of hurting Christians.

Parkview supports two counselors at CLM: Linda Johnson and Mark Theissen.


Cornerstone Rescue Mission

The Cornerstone Rescue Mission is the main provider of shelter and the only ongoing free source of meals for the homeless in the Black Hills region. The main facility houses as may as 160 homeless men nightly and feeds twice that many.

Kevin and Heather Fannin with International Students INC.

ISI exists to share Christ’s love with international students and to equip them for effective service in cooperation with the local church and others.  Kevin & Heather Fannin have faithfully led this ministry for years, serving international students at South Dakota School of Mines & Technology. Parkview supports this ministry financially as well as through their meals ministry.  The church body helps provide meals for the International students regularly on Friday nights.


David and Arielle Randle with Jews for Jesus

Jews for Jesus exists to make the messiahship of Jesus an unavoidable issue to the Jewish people worldwide.

David and Arielle Randle minister to Jewish children, teens and young adults through camp programs, teen events, Shabbat dinners and a resident mentorship program. They also lead one on one Bible studies with Jewish people (believers and unbelievers) and street outreach in the city of San Francisco.

 Mike Altstiel with Cavetime

Mike Altstiel assumed the executive director position of another “brotherhood” ministry, CAVETIME, in December 2017.   Very similar in goals and direction as Mike’s previous ministry,  Mike was well acquainted with Cavetime and its staff, having participated in several men’s events with them.  It’s the best of both worlds!  Mike and his family are members at Parkview and he looks forward to directing CAVETIME from  here in Rapid City.


Love, INC.


Love in the Name of Christ works to mobilize churches to transform lives and communities in the Name of Christ. It is a network of Rapid City churches working together to show God’s love by helping people in need. In addition to Life, Inc. classes, Love, Inc. organizes the Clothe-A-Kid and Cases for Kids programs.

Mark and Leigh Ann Looyenga with the Navigators

Mark and Leigh Ann Looyenga serve as counselors & supporters to the staff of Navigators.  Mark was called from his role as an assistant pastor to join Navigators’ staff in a role designed to strengthen and support other Navigators serving on the front lines in ministry.


Larry and Robin Reinhold with Rainbow Bible Ranch

Rainbow Bible Ranch serves kids & youth through camps it hosts on a working ranch near the Black Hills of South Dakota.  Larry & Robin Reinhold lead this ministry. The Reinhold family has history with Parkview going back many years.


 Dan and Sandra Wahlgren with Table in the Wilderness

Director Dan and Sandra Wahlgren founded Table in the Wilderness in 1995 to share Christ with students through serving them the way Jesus served those around Him.  Table’s camp facilities in Centennial, WY are occupied most of the year by campers of all ages. They also lead various mission trips and partnered with Parkview Church for the Mexico Mission Trip in 2015. Follow them on Facebook.

Rocky Mountain EFCA

Parkview is part of the Rocky Mountain District of the Evangelical Free Church of America.  The district offers several opportunities for fellowship and ministry with a three-state area.   Parkview participates in the monthly pastors’ fellowship for our region that is held at the Parkview building.  The EFCA also has numerous missionaries serving in home and worldwide opportunities.
